Changes to Dead by Daylight are part of its ninth-year roadmap. Despite the UI adjustment being a popular demand among fans, the response to the social media post has been largely negative. Many replies criticize the vague timeline of "in the future" and the lack of specific details about the upcoming UI changes. Numerous players expressed a desire for the user interface to revert to its pre-8.1.0 update state, believing the old UI was satisfactory.
The UI changes aren't the only recent issue that has upset the player base. Shortly after the new update, Dead by Daylight announced increased DLC prices on PC, effective July 22. The price hike affects the All Things Wicked, Sadako Rising, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Saw, Silent Hill, and Dungeons and Dragons DLC, with each increasing by $1. Behaviour Interactive stated that the price increase aims to balance cross-progression across all platforms except for Nintendo Switch.
